Ownership Rights: Car Repair Going Extremely Bad

My question involves personal property located in the State of: Texas. So this is going to be a long story in February 2015 I purchased a 2002 supercharged mustang GT after having the car for a few hours the engine was pretty much gone, I found a Mechanic shop to do the repair the told me it would 3800 for the new motor and to put the performance parts from the old engine on to the new one. It took me right at 4 months to pay the amount but no work had been done to my car. The owner called me after 2 weeks and said if we put the supercharger on your new motor there would be no warranty and if i did stick with the supercharger Id be back in the same spot sooner or later. In the same conversation he said for and additional 2800 he could have me a motor built with 500 horsepower with out having to have the supercharger so I did some research and what he said about the motor not lasting seemed to check out so over 2 1\2 months later I had the 2800 paid off and this time around he explains that it was just an estimate and to get the job completed it would be an additional 2500 I was irrate but my I had so much invested in it at that time I figured what's another 2500 and during this they managed to destroy the front bumper during a tow left my window cracked for months the car has been rained is wet inside and the door panel has water in it but they did say that was on them and they would take care of it. It is now April 4, 2016 and I have finished paying the additional 2500 which puts me at paid 9100 only thing that they have done to the car is remove the previous engine now that it's paid I ask for an ETA on the car and he says it's been 14 months on waiting for you to pay so I'm not going to rush my mechanic and that there could still be needing additional money to get the car completed and when I told him no more money he said I would result in breach of contract. So my question is do I have any legal ground in Texas or am I at his mercy?
