Minor in Possession: Options for a College Student Who Will Be Out-of-State on Her Court Date

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Nebraska
My daughter 19, going to college in Nebraska, was riding in a friends truck that had alcohol inside. The driver is also 19. They were pulled off the road sitting in the truck talking. There were NO open containers, neither of them had been drinking and the driver claimed full responsibility for the alcohol. They were both sited for MIP. The court date is May 18th. The citation has a place for a waiver to plead guilty and go pay the fine immediately but that box was not checked. My daughter has plane tickets to fly back home to Alaska (4 THOUSAND miles away) on the 2nd of May....
Can she file a request to appear telephonically?
Plead guilty, pay the fine and be done with it?
Request for an earlier court date?
Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
