My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Seattle Wa
So, as I was driving home and driving in the far right lane this car just entered traffic right infront of me and I acted fast and pressed my breaks; but it was too late i hit her as she was entering traffic, from a gas station. I didnt expect her too because she could of waited until i passed to enter traffic. Good thing the car behind me swerved onto the next lane just in time to miss my car. So when I approached the driver and asked her if she was okay and asked her if she can call the police because my phone was dead. She said she didnt want the police involved and that we could exchange information and handle things. So she called her brother inlaw and as we waited police showed up and asked for our ids and insurance. Police asked the driver what happened and all she said was that she was driving and i hit her, mind you its raining heavy. As i waited for police to ask me for my statement but he didnt and asked for my insurance, which i couldnt provide because i couldnt find the papers, and the car I was drining wasnt mines. I was only using to drop off my grandmother. Then mins after he gives me a paper with the ladys info and tells me I will be expecting a tickets and I asked exactly what for and he didnt mind me and drove off.
So, i asked my mom if she has insurance on her car and she did; but, expired. So, i bought insurrance to show the judge that i did purchase insurance, though it happend after. Wondering if i show my insurance on my car that was indeed effective at the time to lower charge? Also, following too close ticket if thats worth fighting? I know i had the right of way?
