My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: MA
I am posting this on behalf of my wife..Her lawyer has filed a small claims suit against her for his legal fees which my wife claims should not have been the case as she owes him lesser and they had a meeting in which he agreed on the lesser amount albeit verbal agreement,now he has told my wife he going to subpoena her jobs and also her school records to show why he must collect his full fees. My challenge we cant afford an attorney so how do we go about the date for court appearance and counter suing for using professional expertise to deceive his client....Thank you.
