My question involves criminal law for the state of: Florida
My ex husband and I have been together on and off since we divorced in 2012. For the last 5 months he has lived with me. He left Thanksgiving day and moved in with another women I took all his belongings to him a week later. He shows up at my house yesterday and I wouldn't let him in he left mad he didn't threaten me or put his hands on me but he busted the windshield on my car. I called police who said there was nothing they could do because he lived there I'm like no he left Thanksgiving. Told me I needed to evict him basically or he could legally come to my house and victimize me and there was nothing I could do. Why would I need to evict someone who no longer lives there? It wasn't my house he vandalized it was my car I don't understand is this correct what cops are telling me? Also this is my car in my name only purchased before he and I were together. My car had been broke down since June 2015 just got it fixed he did not drive my car he does not have a license. These were reasons the cops said gave him the right to be able to do this to my car. Even though I told them no he didn't drive it the 5 months he lived there car wasn't running.

Vandalism and Mischief: Is My Ex Really Allowed to Come on My Property and Vandalize My Car and It's Ok
