My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: Louisiana
I brought van for repair of integrated power module mid November. After first week they confirmed diagnosis, Wednesday of week 2 I paid them $700 toward total estimate cost of $925. They told me it would not be ready until Monday or Tuesday before they could install and program computer because they were backed up which was fine. The same week, Friday I went there to confirm that part had come in and my vehicle would be ready the following Mondays or Tuesday latest which they confirmed. No word from them so Tuesday I went there and they told me would be Wednesday. I paid balance due because my daughter would be picking up. I went by 1 pm and wasn't fixed. Told me mechanic was at lunch and would repair when he got back, should take him about an hour. I called 3 pm and was told mechanic was out sick, didn't show up for work ( I didn't ask about the lunch break he was supposedly on earlier). I called Thursday and they told me they'd been too busy but would have it done Friday. I called Friday 3 pm and they said were just starting on it but found their computer software was having issues updating but was problem on their end and computer guy was there to handle, that part was fine and they'd call when done. I called Monday afternoon and was told needed another $325 computer part to complete. I arranged for my brother to pay by phone. They said they would call him for payment when part was installed. They haven't contacted him as of last Thursday but I called Thursday and was told the parts were installed but they still needed to program but working on another vehicle so I was next in line. I called Friday 2 x and the receptionist told me the mechanic would call me back in a few minutes. I called 3 hours later and was told same. It's Monday. The only call I've ever gotten from them was saying I needed $325 part. I want all of my money back if they can't give me my van in working order as promised. Can they withhold labor charges or part charges ? :wallbang::wallbang:
