Here are two stories,
1. I forgot to renew my driver’s licenses after a check point. I went to have the license renewed before I got the ticket. At the time, I only have a yellow page (the license renew receipt). I was clear told by DMV officer that I can drive when I have the expired license and the renew receipt together. Couple days after renew, I was stopped by a police officer because of speeding. He gave me a speeding ticket together with a DAC (Driving After Cancellation) even I explained to him the situation (I guess that the online status has not been updated yet. After the ticket, I went online and checked myself. I found out my drive license status was still cancelled). The officer asked me call someone to drive my car back. Since the location was only about 1.5 miles away from home, after he left, I decided to just drive back. Then, he stopped me again on my way home and had me on handcuffs. He searched my car and locked me inside his car. After car inspection, he released me on the road and gave me another ticket (DAC again). I went to the court later and spoke with a prosecuting attorney, dismissed both DAC while paid speeding fine. I went online and found out the ticket citation information listed as below
Type: Crim/Traf Non-Mand
Charge(s):Traffic-Drivers License-Driving After Cancellation
2. Also, back in 2006, I have a car accident at the cross in the snow. I hit a police car when I was trying to make a left turn on green. I got 3 tickets, damage city property, drive without insurance (I don’t have my insurance with me but I do have car insurance), and not yield to straight when make a turn. This ticket was waived when I appeared on the court with my attorney.
I understand that traffic violation does not need to be report, but not quite sure if these two cases still belong to traffic violation category. Does anyone know if either of these two violation need to be reported in my I-485?
