My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Illinois.
I was hired around mid February for a customer service company that has business on a global scale. This company in one of biggest in the United states and I was hired as a Receptionist for this Site. I was asked if I would be willing to come help the HR generalist as of 6/1/2015 with data entry, filing, processing paperwork, ect. since the HR manager was going to be moving out of state and working from home and the other HR generalist had been let go by the company. I agreed, but two weeks into it I was basically saddles with all the duties the HR generalist that got let go did on top of some duties that I kept from when I was the receptionist. I do as much, if not more than the other HR generalist but I am still getting paid the hourly wage that I signed off on when I got hired as a Receptionist. It has now been almost six months and they have not changed my title, offer me a promotion or a pay raise, or a bonus for any of the extra work I have been doing.
Are they violating any labor laws?
