My question involves insurance law for the state of: New York. Geico is my insurance carrier. I had a monthly payment due on December 2nd, I was unable to make the payment that day and called and made arrangements to make payment on December 4th. I made the payment on my Geico app on my smart phone on the 4th as promised, it said payment was successful and showed January 10th as my next due date. Next thing I know, I checked my post mail Friday, December 18th, and there was a letter from Geico stating that due to non payment, my insurance has been canceled as of December 2nd. I called and they offered to give me insurance again, for double what I was paying due to "Insurance Lapse." Is there some legal way I can get insurance back without lapse and all fees associated with it
