My question involves criminal law for the state of: Arizona
I have 6 FTA Warrants for my arrest in the state of Arizona in total. They are for 2 charges of assault w intent/reckless injury, 2 for disorderly conduct and 1 for criminal damage. That was one court case. I have another court case that originally had an FTA Warrant on it for a disorderly conduct charge, that when I was arrested for the other charges, I had to stay in county jail for 2 wks until my arraignment. All of the individual charges have a warrant on them.
I went to my first court date for all 6 of these charges, then missed my second court date, then missed the just cause hearing to show why I missed the first one. I had a public defender who then withdrew from the case. I moved out of state because I had no where to live in Az. I contacted the courts in Az and they are going to forward my email to the judge as a pro se motion since I do not have a lawyer. I submitted my mailing address and was told I would receive a letter via postal mail in the next 2-3 weeks.
My question is, any idea what will happen next? I want to get this all taken care. I have not been able to find a job or my own place to live because this is haunting me. The charges are all from last year.
I am not sure what the judge will reply with? I am guessing telling me to return to the state of Arizona and to to warrant court? Is there a possibility that they will now come to my address arrest me and extradite me? Or do they not do that for misdemeanors even though there are 6 warrants on me. I was told from a friend that I will most likely have to spend a year in jail when I go back?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I am guessing that I also should find a lawyer in Arizona?
Again, Thank you for taking the time to read this and respond.
