My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Virginia.
A few weeks ago, I received a speeding ticket for going 50 in a 35. It was on my way to work, so obviously I drive this road frequently. The road is 55 most of the way. However, there is a short stretch that drops down to 35 for less than a mile for some weird reason. I knew the road was about to turn back to 55, so I started accelerating too soon. It was about to go back to 55 right around a corner, probably a 1/4 of a mile away or so. Based on that, is there any reasoning at all for me contesting this in court? Or should I just plea guilty before the court date and avoid that court trip altogether?
Also, are there any negatives to a guilty plea? Can I still attend driving school if I do that?
Thank you.
