Trials: Deferred Prosecution Agreement Revocation

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Iowa

Deferred Prosecution Agreement was revoked after hearing, Agreement did not involve pleading guilty as a condition. Nothing in Agreement mandated a trial on underlying matter upon revocation. Prosecutor did not take any action to set matter for trial.

Nevertheless, Judge set matter for trial referring to request to do so, even though no motion or petition was ever filed by prosecutor to do so..

How can Judge unilaterally set matter for trial? This is important in this matter due to Statute of Limitations issues..

Thank you
