My question involves personal property located in the State of: TEXAS
Last week (Tuesday) I took my car to the dealership I bought it from because the backup camera was not working properly. The dealership called me Wednesday to tell me they were sending across town to the local Ford dealership where they would be performing the repair. Thursday the Ford dealership called me to tell me they had to order a part and it would be in on Friday and I could be expecting my car to be done Saturday, but at latest Monday. Saturday morning I get a call from said Ford dealership to say that overnight my car had been broken in to and that the back window had been busted out. They would be ordering a new window now and replace it, now the car would not be ready until Tuesday evening. I went to survey the damages and see what all was missing - if anything. Upon arriving I see my bad @&$ after market stereo system I paid 3K for had been ripped out, my Apple watch and Versace sunglasses were stolen. The Ford dealership said they were not responsible for the missing items, as they took responsibility for the damages and were repairing that- however this was on the dealership that sent them the car for the backup camera repair (the one I purchased the car from). So I went to that dealership to get to the bottom of it and they passed the buck back to the Ford place since that is whose property the break-in occured on. Once I went back to the Ford dealership, I was understandably LIVID- upon raising my voice and explaining in no uncertain terms that I was not going to accept this loss and they need to watch their security cameras, file a police report, file THEIR insurance, yada yada, they demanded I leave their property or they were going to call the police because I was getting unruly. I didn't threaten anyone, except by saying SOMEONE BETTER TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR MY MISSING ITEMS AND IT WASN'T GOING TO BE ME!! What the heck do I do now?? This CAN NOT be the way this ends- this has got to be wrong of both places, who takes responsibility and how do I make them??
**I typed this for my boyfriend - (ya know everyone isn't computer savvy). This are his words, I would be his point of contact. If anyone can help us with this- PLEASE DO!!
