My question involves real estate located in the State of: Washington
I am building in a cul-de-sac that is dedicated to a code city in Washington state. My property line is 8' from the driveway apron that is bordered by the curb and gutter and that is 8' of city dedicated property. Per city code, I have the right to tie into the road over the driveway apron. The soil under the apron appears to have sunk 4" and legally loaded concrete truck broke the 6" 4000 psi concrete apron. The city says that my property abuts the driveway apron and it is classified as a sidewalk (no sidewalk for a mile). Bear in mind, there is 8' of land between my recorded property line and the apron. They say I have to pay for the repair over city land.
Does my property abut the street or does the city dedicated land abut the street?
Thank you
