My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Iowa/flordia/conneticuit
Ok, so im currently suspended pending investigation for something i posted on social media. The post had no connection to work, other than my place of work was unfortunatly public information on my profile page. A group of people i have no association with did not like my post and reported it to my place of work via facebook messenger. Now i may be facing termination because of a comment i made. The only reason i know who did it, is because the person took a picture of the post and message they sent to my employer, and sent it to my wife.
Is there any legal action that would protect me from being terminated because of a social media post not related or associated with work. Or is there any legal action i can take against the person who sent in the message to my workplace?
I should mention, i work in iowa, my employer is based in conneticuit and the person who turned in the post lives in flordia.
