My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: Richmond, Virginia
I was contacted by a collections agency yesterday stating i have 2 medical bills i uncured on January/ February of 2013 today is May 2018, 5 years ago, and now just getting to the collections agency. My question is, aren't there time limits the can go to collect a dept? Now that the collection agency has it how long will it stay on my credit report and is there anything I can do. I know nothing about this bill and asked them to send me proof of dept.
(p.s i'm on SSD)
