I am just trying to get a sense of how people who this regularly do it, do it: When serving people, companies I understand it is best to use a process server but how about a big insurance company namely a Contractor's Bond company? Is it recommended to use a process server or since these are big companies who routinely get notices of claims would you use the court's clerk registered mail service? In either case do you serve the "company" or agent of service for the insurance company? E.G. if the bond holder is AIG do I need to determine AIG's agent of service in CA to serve them? Thank you.
