My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Washington.
I was relocated here for a position and 4 months into the role, my whole team was dissolved and my position no longer exists. The company has not fired me, but has placed me into a role that is different and for me is not career enhancing. They gave me the option to apply to other open positions but are rushing the process and I dont feel as though I am able to make the best decision for my next move.
I wanted to know, given all that, am I bound to pay them for relocation for a position I no longer work in through no fault of my own?
The offer letter states that if I leave the company within 2 years, I need to pay back back the relo fees. If I leave the company now, will they have a case against me even though the position dissolved?
