I was told that I do not make enough to pay taxes, is that true? I know that I don't exceed the 10,000 something a year but I've been reading it is a lot different when you are "self employed." I haven't paid any taxes because my parents or so, told me I don't make enough. We get paid every two weeks for five cents per paper. I deliver maybe to 80 something people. I/we started maybe a year and half ago. My mother quit recently because of the checks becoming shorter even though she delivered more papers than I did my pay check was higher than hers and this was excluding tips. Anyways, am I supposed to be paying taxes?
I also don't remember signing the same paperwork as my mom did and my sister. Will that effect this? Also I was 19 when I started or 18 maybe... I don't remember.
Also, do you get sent things from the IRS or do you report to the IRS about taxes?
Thank you.
