My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: Texas
My friend vehicle was stolen over nite from an auto repair shop. Owner states he parked truck out in the parking lot and video camera shows not a very clear of theft. owner states he has keys inside shop. He called police and by the time I got there , since he called me and asked me if I had picked up truck which I told him no since he hadn't informed me that the truck was ready . He made the report to the officers and made a comment to me about not wanting to take responsibility . I called insurance which its a 97 ford truck 250 and it only carries liability and they stated theft wasn't covered to talk to shop. Can owner be responsible for my truck? I don't have much info since truck hasn't been recovered as if the thief broke window, used another means toto steal vehile since this is my work truck and need it.
