H1b Visa Revoked for DWI and Detained for 24 Days

Hi All,

Hope some one can help me with some of my questions.

I have been working in the US for Past 8 years on H1B. I was pulled over by a Cop in Mar 2017 in San Antonio, TX. I was in jail for that night. Hired criminal attorney went to all court hearings. Case has been reduced to Class B misdemeanor on Nov 1 2017. I am on Probation for a year. While I was going to report to my probation officer, ICE picked me up and sent to detention center. I was there for 24 days and was out on court bond. in my notice to appear, they have following 2 charges against me

1) Unable to maintain immigrant status to wit: Convicted for Class B misdemeanor on Nov 1 2017.
2) Vsa has been revoked by USCIC on Apr 4 2017.

I have red in many posts that visa revocation only impacts while entering into US. It does not make you unlawful resident. Is that true. I have been legally working with my new employer since 2016 Jul. If that is true, why did ICE detain me?



Please note that Visa in my passport is from my previous employer.

I have hired an immigration attorney to help me out on this case. I truly regret driving car on that night.
