Civil Procedure Issues: What is Procedure if Defendant Hasn't Been Served a Notice of Hearing

My question involves court procedures for the state of: Texas

I've been sued. Now they plaintiff has filed for contempt and a hearing has been set. I have not yet been served. I know the hearing is scheduled. Advise? Yes, I'm looking through the forums for the answer but after 5 pages I decided to post the question and continue looking.
