My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: North Carolina (Jacksonville)
Hello there,
I was visiting my friend last week in Jacksonville when I was pulled over for doing 70 in a 55 (also a "construction zone"). I was issued a citation, but it was in the completely wrong name. The year of my vehicle was also incorrect, but the officer never asked for my registration. Everything else on the ticket was correct, including my license number, DOB, Height, Address, etc. For a few other details, I am 18-20 years old and I live in (and have a license from) New Hampshire, which means any moving violation results in a loss of license.
What is my best bet here? Will I be able to get off due to the mistake in the name? Also, is there a way to note this error without having to go to the court (since it's more than a day's drive away from me). I'd prefer to try and get off on the ticket since I need my license and do not want insurance rate increases. I also received 10 different marketing letters from various traffic ticket attorneys in the mail, all addressed to the incorrect name on my ticket, so I am confident that the ticket went into the system under the incorrect name.
All advice is appreciated, thank you!
