My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Washington
My new wife has been presented with a new position that pays much better than what she has made in the past. We have a toddler child together, and it may make more sense for me now become a stay at home father and take care of the child. I have 2 older children with my ex. I AM NOT LOOKING TO AVOID CHILD SUPPORT. But if I began staying home, would the courts keep my support obligation the same, would they raise them, or would they just impute based on age?
Again, I am not looking to avoid support and have no problem continuing with the same support figures that I have been maintaining.
Or, if I did continue to work, will the state begin to factor in my new wifes income? If this is depending on factors, at what point do they count her income?
