My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: north carolina
I was living/working with my step mom and after i got paid she would ask/take my pay back and if i didnt, she would threaten to kick my family and i out. So, i would give it back so there is no trouble. This happened for months until i saved enough from another job. When i finally confronted her about the situation, she told me im working in exchange for housing and use of one of her cars. When i left, after a few months, she stopped paying for the delivery van i cosigned for her business and now im paying for it while she still uses it. I also co signed for the lease for her business so she could get approved.
Anthing i can do about the pay, van, and lease?
She is a very revengeful person. For that reason, i left NC and have not contacted her or attempted anything else as i am afraid she will try to do harm
My dad was a part of this situation aswell and they both were making these decisions
