My question involves restraining orders in the State of: NY
My husband just had a no contact order placed yesterday so he can have no contact with myself or our children. The officer told me it was effective until December 18th unless terminated by a court of a higher power or his attorney. I had originally stated that I did not want a protection order but the judge placed one anyway. Will the order be evaluated at his court date (which I'm assuming is in the next couple weeks)? Do I have any opportunity to voice not wanting to have it be in place? Are these orders usually shorter than the initial date set on them?
