My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: New York
I was recently on vacation and my girlfriend not knowing much on purchasing automobiles went to a dealership and put a down-payment on a car that had high mileage and was priced way over the market value. When I returned from vacation I went to the dealer and we asked for refund on the downpayment because we no longer wanted to continue with the car. He immediately became hostile and very rude and refused to give us the refund which was $1,000. My girlfriend did sign for the downpayment but didn't sign for the car and hasn't taken the car off the lot. Am I entitled for a refund if we do not wish to proceed on buying the car?
Thanks for the help.
