My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Tennessee
I have a 6 month old son whose father has not made any contact with me since i was about 3 months pregnant. Honestly, after baby was born I wanted revenge on him by going after child support. However, i'm engaged and pregnant to a man now who is willing to adopt baby. Not to mention the fact that babies father was highly manipulative, sexually and emotionally abusive to me, I have no desire to ever have contact with this man again. I do not want baby to ever know this man. I am in the process of child support and establishing paternity with babies father, and i've been told he wants to sign away his rights. I am completely on board with this, but i've read that there has to be another person to be able to take fathers place legally? So that would mean my fiance and I would need to get married asap so he can adopt baby and father can stay out of the picture?
