I was charged with wrongful appropriation in May, ordered to pay a fine of $365 and take a class. Other than that they said in a year the case will be dismissed and I could then expunge it. It has been a little over a month since this.
I went back to my home country and applied for a renewal visa: about to start junior year in college. Last year for a renewal I didn't need to do the interview but this time I got a message that I need to come to the consulate.
During the case I hired a criminal attorney who said that wrongful appropriation should not affect anything regarding my visa.
What are my chances of getting my visa renewed? What should I expect at the interview?
Will it be any better if I pay the fine in full before going to the consulate?
Is there anything I can do to better my chances in getting a visa?
