Mechanic Misdiagnosed My Car and Expects Me to Pay for Additional Work

My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: Illinois

Hello the mechanic I took my car to did not allow me to explain the issue with my car. He used a diagnostics device and relied solely on that. He Told me it was the fuel pump but, I could of told him it wasn't. Trusting his judgment I gave him the okay to start "fixing" my car forked over $530 not to mention I payed towing costs as well.

I got my car back and not even 5 days later the problem is not fixed. I had to have it towed back to them again at my expense.

I was only given a 15 days labor warranty. I said I knew it was not the fuel pump but I was not allowed to voice what I experienced with my car and asked if they were still going to be charging me more aside from the $530 or at least get credit for the amount I already paid as it was misdiagnosed. As I just said they expect me to pay for whatever they decide needs to be done.

I would like to knowI could demand that they give me credit for what I paid to go towards the necessary repair or do I have a case.
