Adoption of Children: How to Go from Legal Guardianship to Adoption

My question involves adoption law for the State of: California.

I am the legal guardian of my daughter and have been so since she was 10 months old, she is now 11yrs of age. My ex wife is also her legal guardian.

My question is...can i legally adopt my daughter, myself? And how do i go about it?
