My question involves criminal law for the state of: Ohio
My friend has had legal issues for about 2 years. His first conviction was in one county and he had an intervention in lue of incarceration. He did not have a chance to start serving this because he was in jail in another county for other charges. The original county was told that he would not be able to appear due to being in jail in another county, they said so what and put out a warrant. This warrant has been active since 2015, he has been pulled over since the warrant was issued but someone messed up his social and it never hit when he would give them his social. He is now in jail for an FTA for the intervention even though they were informed he was in jail in a county 45min. away.
So my question is, what can we do to get them to remove the warrant? Obviously we are going to ask his public defender to get the information from the other county but is there anything we can do before arraignment? He has been in jail for 3 days and still hasn't been given a bond hearing or when he could get one and they haven't moved him from in-take. He has another court day this coming week as well and the county he is in now refuses to even acknowledge the issue with the other county.
