My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: California.
I drive big truck and was in Riverside in a commercial zone and parked against the curb not more than a few hundred feet from the gate of my consignee. I came in the night before I was to be unloaded. I parked in a place that was free of any marking along the "straight" part of the street. A "No Stopping" sign was more than a hundred feet away, half way into the cul-de-sac where I was not parked and I made certain that there was no painted curb where I did park. There was red painted curb behind me for about 10 feet from a driveway which I was clear of.
The officer that cited me, somewhere just before 8:00 AM never attempted to even get my attention, but not only cited me for "No Stopping" where I was not, but also cited me for exceeding my GVWR. As it is designated truck route strainght to my consignee and other industrial shipping and receiving businesses on this route, exceeding GVWR is not possible. Both of these notes are placed on the same citation.
One disturbing note on the matter is that I have been to this particular location a few times in the passed, and had been informed by both other drivers AND the consignee, that police never enforced the regulations on that street, due to it being primarily used by employees and big trucks loading and off loading in that area.
