My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Illinois
I work for a Company where I am on call every other day for a 24 hr period and every other weekend. My question is this, I am not paid for the time I wait for a call but only for the time spent on doing a pick up. When the call comes in I have 15 minutes to respond, this does not allow me to basically do anything while I am on call. Should I be compensated for the time I am waiting for the call? I also use my personal cell phone for such calls and I am not compensated for my phone usage either.
Thank you in advance for any information.
