Traffic Lights, Signs and Controls: Ticketed for Stopping at a Red Light After Crossing the Stop Line

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: California (Alameda County)

I received a $500 "Courtesy Notice" (does not say "This is not a ticket") about a Red Signal violation in San Leandro. The notice gave me almost no information to that allowed me to figure out what the actual violation was, but I was eventually able to find the pictures and video of my infraction. I made a right turn on red, making a complete stop, but did so several feet past the white line (there were 2 large trucks to my left that I could not see around).

3 questions:
- if I made a complete stop, but did so slightly in the intersection, do I have any chance of fighting this?
- if so, does getting an attorney improve my odds? Can I get the court to review the video and reverse the ruling? Any advice on how best to change the outcome?
- My courtesy notice says violation "CVC" and Section 21453(a) - is it likely, since the video shows I made a complete stop and clearly intended to follow the law, that I can get the charge reduced to something that doesn't involve a point?
