My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Texas. I was on the highway doing 70mph in a 60mph zone. It was a Friday and I was doing the alleged speed trying to get home because of how tired I was after my night shift. I know it's no excuse and I was speeding, but I've been driving for 2 years and I have never gotten a speeding ticket before or even been to court. I am 19 years of age and have no idea what to do since this is my first time being pulled over. Will my license be suspended or will I get a nasty ticket on my record? I'm actually going to study criminal justice next semester in college in hopes of joining S.W.A.T. so will this ticket hurt that chance at becoming a cop at all? I also don't know what to wear in court. Do I need to go get a suit or is a button down and jeans good? Do I need to buy slacks? Any help is much appreciated and thank you in advance.
It was about 8:30 in the morning and the traffic was heavy, but pretty crowded. I even pulled over on the shoulder as soon as the cop got in his car and before he turned on his lights because I knew it was me.
