My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: California
State of California Casino. As a patron at a California casino, my friends and I decided to gather for dinner at the casino & after play few rounds at the card tables. We are a group of 8 so after our meal half of us decided to head over to the card tables n other half remained at the casinos restaurant. Note: 1st transaction to cover our dinner was paid for. 2nd transactions was a round of drinks paid for. Final transaction for another round paid for. After few minutes while I am at the cards table, group of securities approached me n stated I must leave the casino now n not welcomed back! Asked the security for what reason, security response, ur group was caught attempting to ditch the bill. I tried to explain to the security that his accusations are false since half of our group is still here playing at the cards table n we even advised the waiter not to clear our table as we will continue use of it for additional drinks/food if necessary. head security rejects my explanation n demanded we leave the casino now. I find this offensive n wrong for the security personnel to embarrass us in front of other casino patrons only to speculate that we had intentions to ditch an unpaid tab. As we regroup with the rest of our friends, it was discovered by my friends as to what had transpired while we were at the card tables, n was told that they gave us an additional bill to pay for when the tab has already been paid so one of my friend who had provided his credit card refused to sign another tab due to the fact he was convinced he had already paid it n yet the security staff refused to investigate into the matter further but decided to continue with their accusations n felt it was warranted to dispatch additional security forces to aggressively remove my friend from the casino as if we are bunch of crooks trying to get a free meal while leaving my friend with bruises on his arms that was unnecessary. The experience was horrible n embarrassing as many other casino patrons had to witness all this. We all decided to leave the casino n cooperate without a scene. Next morning to add more salt to injury, my friend checked his bank statement only to discover that casino had double charge him n he stand correct the whole time only to be bullied n embarrassed by the casino security staff when all they had to do was conduct their own internal investigation. My question is there grounds to sue this casino for what they put us all thru?
