Ownership Rights: Buiilding a House, Power Company Decides They Want to Put Power Pole in Driveway

My question involves personal property located in the State of: South Carolina

Hello,

While attempting to obtain power for my site I ran into problems because the power company wanted to string power lines all over the place. After seeing what the power situation was, I wanted to review my options for powering with alternate energy and get quotes and talk to people. The power company wanted me to make the decision in a few days of which i was not prepared to do. However, I have a neighbor that also needs power. I told the company I did not want to make a hasty decision and they said they were going to use the right of way. I was ok with that. Then, from what I can tell, out of spite, they have planned to put a power pole in middle of my drive way. The drive way is fairly small that allows access to the building site. it means I would have to bring in dirt to get another driveway across the drainage ditch on the side of the road.

Before the power pole goes up, is there anything I can do legally?

Thanks for any help,

-degg
