In 2011 I separated from my husband. My older son stayed with my cousin so I left my 2 younger kids with him. I left him file them since he took care of them that year. The IRS said he couldn't do that 6 months after he received the refund. Now he's making installment payments. Can I assume that debt for him and pay it off so his slate will be clean?
