My question involves an injury that occurred in the state of: California. I was going southbound at a stopped light waiting to make a left u turn when signal turned green. Started to make u turn when my truck did not make the complete turn. As I stopped my truck prior my rt tire hitting the curb my truck made a sudden movement forward. Didn't think much of it. I then looked to my left mirror & rear view & then to my rt mirror to make sure it was clear to reverse. As I glanced to my rt mirror I see the vehicle behind me was very close & under my rt back bumper. I waited for the driver to go in reverse so I can back up to complete the turn. As completed my u turn, I turned into this parking lot to see if my truck was hit. When I glanced into my left mirror saw that driver behind had a dent on left side of his car. I called the police to get a report for my insurance. But few weeks later I get a letter from my insurance putting me at fault due to the police report had stated that I went in reverse hit the driver behind me. Clearly, the officer mischaracterized my statement & just inputting the other driver statement. I am now going to do a supplement report/amend the report but the officer clearly stated that he made me at fault. Which the officer was very rude when speaking to me regarding amending the report. Even if I update my statement that he will not change his decision. I told him that he failed to put my statement & was not fairly decided. My insurance advised to amend it so they can change me at fault. But the officer put vc 22106 on the report but did not give my a ticket. But clearly I did make sure prior backing to make sure if was clear. So, tell me was right of the officer to do this to me not giving my statement on how it happen but just using the other drivers?
