Speeding Tickets: Speeding in a School Zone While Slowing to the Posted Speed Limit

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Texas

I can copy information down from the ticket if needed (its downstairs) but my family just moved to this area recently and are unfamiliar with it. My mother asked me to drive her in my car to my sister's school to buy her a tshirt since she needs one for field trips and stuff with their logo. We are unfamiliar with the area and the road we were on was 40 mph and suddenly without any warning we came upon a sign that said 25mph entering school zone. I de-escalated as fast as i could without slamming on my brakes but the school zone was ridiculously short. Maybe 4-5 house lengths long? Then it was back to the 40 mph road. There was a police officer sitting in the middle of the divider on the road and they put their lights on before we approached them and i cant recall if there was cars infront or not but my mom suggested we stop since we were unsure why they put their lights on so we stopped infront of them on the lane beside them and the officer stuck their hand out of the window and waved for us to go. We proceeded to go and i was only going 30 mph btw at this point when i stopped since i had a sign warning me i was entering a school district to go from 40 to 25 i was able to get down to 30 as i crossed the border. A mile later down the road (back on the 40 mph signs) the cop comes up behind us a few cars in no rush at all and gets past the other cars and beeps their siren once at me so i pulled over.

The officer asks me did i know i was going 32 mph and i school zone and i said no m'am i did not. We are unfamiliar with this area, we just moved here. I did not admit i knew it was a school zone or mention how you have nearly no warning going from 40mph to 25mph because i didnt know if she was going to give me a warning or not. I have a clean record, no tickets or warnings ever. She issued me a ticket for $330 for going 32 (i was going 30) in a school zone in bexar county texas.

So my question is, can I contest this? It says i can pay online or appear on court in january and i want to know if i have any case. I dont understand why when i stopped she waved me on then stopped me an entire mile almost away from the school and yet wrote the ticket with the street corners for the school.

Edit: I just wanted to add on the ticket it says that it MIGHT be an option that i can do a driving course versus paying the ticket and put in a request but im assuming there is no guarantee for that either or how much that would be or if its an online or physical course..but overall i feel the ticket is unfair so im trying to figure out my options..
