Getting Fired: Terminated for Taking Break(No Breaks Allowed)

My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: California

Hello there so I have been working at this pace called " San Jose Airport Inn" which previously was a Motel 6 now taken over by the lady whom interviewed me and hired me on the spot. Having lots of hotel experience that was not an issue for me and she saw me as an asset to help her business. She said "We need people like you here, not the lady with 5 kids who works in the morning". She also stated that there were lots of indians working there whom were actually here on visa since they were here for school. After I stated I am also an indian she was shocked and looked to regret what she said about indians and theyre accents. She claimed she was the manager but later found out she actually is the owner.

-I noticed after working there few days that I was being watched the entire time I worked. She was watching me from live feed to her iphone. I was not allowed to step out of the front desk office and I worked 8-9 hours at a time. I was the only one working, there never was an extra person working with me to cover my break. Some of the guys there worked more then 12 hours without breaks. So I was terminated over the phone yesterday after I felt terribly sick and decided to leave the office to go out and get myself some food. Keep in mind no people had checked in for the past 5 days and neither we had any reservations. The place was dead empty.

What should I do? I'm waiting for my check which is for about 10 days that I worked there. I just think its wrong that were not allowed to take our breaks and working for 8+ hours at a time in front of a screen.

State- Califoria
City- San Jose

Thank you!
