I made final payment on land in July but the seller won't give me the deed. My copy of the contract was destroyed in a fire in 2013 and the seller is telling me that //////////i have to hire a lawyer to file for the deed. When we signed contract the seller's lawyer had a signed copy of the deed and was to hold it until it was paid in full then turn it over to me. What can I do to get seller to give me the deed?
