Social Security Issues: SSI and Bank Account

(CA) Hello, I am 64 years old and have been collecting social security (not for disability) for a couple of years. I am married and do have children under the age of 18. Is it true there is a limit on how much money I can have in my savings account? My mother passed away and I am the beneficiary and will this effect my SS income?
