My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Texas
Hi,
I was on a residential area which had a wide road but no lanes were marked. One side traffic lane was around 12 foot wide.
I was at the stop sign at the center of the lane with an indicator on. Another person, who evidently did not stop at the stop sign, came from the right and banged into my car just when I started to take the right turn.
I was fined by the police saying that it was a wrong lane to turn from when there were clearly no lanes marked and the road was not wide enough to have two lanes. I had the right of way as I was at the stop sign first and since there were no lines marked to separate lanes, I was at the center of the lane. The other driver was not even charged for not stopping at the stop sign.
Please advice if lanes like these when unmarked are treated as single or double lanes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
