My question involves criminal law for the state of: MA
My 26 y o daughter shoplifted at Target and was detained. She got a ticket, police were called and she has court date.
she has paid civil demand (500) for approx. 200 dollars worth of merchandise.
What will happen in court?
Will this go on her record? She is a teacher.

this is first offense, can she get this expunged?
Does she need lawyer in court or just plead guilty, pay up and put this behind her? I won't make excuses. Very stupid, she is remorseful.
I just want to know if it will affect her career and what judge will do.
