Relocation: Np with Full Time Parenting

My question involves a child custody case from the State of: California
My ex and I share joint legal custody of our two children ages 5 and 7. We shared physical custody 50/50 as well.
The Ex petitioned for an Ex parte to move the children out of county, almost 200 miles away. It was denied, and we were referred back to mediation and then court. My ex was ordered by the court not to move the children out of Sacramento county but did so anyways until the kids school started. We went to mediation and then court a few weeks later. We are set for trial and in the meantime the judge gave the Ex two choices, she can stay here in the county and our agreement stays the same or she can continue to live out of the county and the kids stay with me. she has decided to live out of county and the children are now with me from Sunday at 6 pm until Friday at 6 pm.
Does this mean I am now the custodial parent? What parent in their right mind would move almost 200 plus miles away and only see there kids for 2 days?! I am baffled. The children are devastated.
Are the courts inclined to just make me the custodial parent if she decides to stay or will they let her relocate with them? We are due for trial in 2 months. The kids have already started school and extra curricular activities.
