Payment: Contracter Want Reimbursed for Work He Offered to Have Done

My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: Florida

I asked the builder who built my house where I could find the metal used to cover the wood door frame on my back door which my dog damaged a piece. He said that the contractor he uses for the siding makes them from bending the metal to cover the frame. He said that he would have his contractor do the repair for me. There was no contract or money or cost discussed at all. The contractor came over with a scrap piece of the metal and nailed it on the frame where I had already cut off the short piece which was damaged. He didn't even take the whole strip off and replace it. He charged the builder $100 for the repair and he paid it and is now giving me his paid receipt wanting me to reimburse him almost 3 to 4 months later stating that the contractor tried to bill me but I was never home. The contractor said anything about cost, payment or billing when he came and did the "fix up". There is almost always someone home and if not he could have left a note. I don't think that I am responsible for this work or reimbursing him anything since no contract or money was discussed.
